Pianist Yvonne Gesler is an internationally renown song accompanist and chamber musician. As a song accompanist she works with singers like Barbara Hannigan, Fatma Said, Rolando Villazón, Peter Gijsbertsen, Ilker Arcayürek, Edwin Crossley-Mercer, Hanna- Elisabeth Müller, Nino Machaidze and Angela Brower.
As her partners in chamber music she can count the Emerson String Quartett and members of the Berliner Philharmoniker. She has made numerous appearances on radio and television on national broadcasters like ARTE, ZDF and NTR.
Yvonne Gesler studied piano with Prof. G.F. Schenck at the Robert-Schumann-Musikhochschule in Düsseldorf and song accompaniment with Prof. Wolfram Rieger at the Musikhochschule ‘Hanns Eisler’ in Berlin where she teaches since 2012. She’s especially grateful to Prof. Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau who thought her an ‘exceptional accompanist’ and invited her to his final masterclasses.
She was a laureate in the category song accompaniment at the Deutschen Musikwettbewerb, the most important competition for young musicians in Germany as well as the recipient of a scholarship from the German Music Council.
Engagements led her to perform at festivals like the Schleswig-Holstein-Musikfestival, the Schumann-Fest Düsseldorf and the Schubertiade Schwarzenberg, Villa Massimo in Rome, the Kammermusiksaal of the Berliner Philharmonie, the Beethovenhaus Bonn, the Wigmore Hall in London and the Vienna ánd Berlin Konzerthaus.
